Who we are

Canopy is made by Saltwaves Ltd, the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy covers this website and the Canopy waitlist.

What we collect

• Your email address, and the time you joined, when you join the waitlist. The form asks for nothing else.
• Technical data your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address and browser type. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, uses it to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We use it only to keep the site secure and working.

How we use it

We use your email address to invite you to early access and to tell you when Canopy launches. We don't send you anything else, and we never sell your address or share it for marketing.

We rely on your consent, which you give by joining. You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to hello@saltwaves.co.uk, and we'll remove you from the list.

We process technical data because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website.

Cookies

This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to tell people from automated traffic.

Who we share it with

• Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site, stores the waitlist in its database service and sends the email that tells our team you've joined. It acts only on our instructions, under its data processing terms.
• Our email provider holds that email in our team inbox, and any messages we exchange with you.

We don't share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Where it's stored

Cloudflare runs a global network, so your data may be processed outside the UK. When it is, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under UK law, which are part of Cloudflare's data processing terms.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it, or for 12 months after Canopy's public launch, whichever comes first. Cloudflare keeps request logs for a short time and then deletes them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the data we hold about you
• correct it
• delete it
• restrict or stop using it
• send it to you, or to someone else, in a machine-readable format

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we'll email you before it takes effect.
